Платформа X (ранее известная как Twitter) сообщила членам парламента Великобритании, что в 2024 году ею было приостановлено 800 миллионов аккаунтов. Эти меры предприняты для борьбы с кампаниями, поддерживаемыми государствами, направленными на манипуляцию и распространение спама.
Вилфредо Фернандес, руководитель X по глобальным государственным связям, проинформировал чиновников, что блокировки произошли за 12-месячный период в течение 2024 года. Аккаунты были приостановлены за нарушение правил X, касающихся манипуляции платформой и рассылки спама.
Предполагается, что большая часть аккаунтов, которые наводняли платформу спамом, были связаны с Россией, за которой следовали государственные субъекты из Китая и Ирана. Фернандес сообщил депутатам комитета по иностранным делам во время видеозвонка, что российские аккаунты стремились «разжигать рознь» и распространять «определенный тип нарратива» с целью манипулирования президентскими выборами в США в 2024 году.
Он также подчеркнул, что попытки манипулировать дискуссиями и распространять спам на сервисе продолжаются. «Каждый день предпринимаются усилия по созданию недостоверных сетей аккаунтов», — заявил Фернандес.
Помимо этого, в прошлом году X приостановил работу еще «нескольких сотен миллионов аккаунтов», предположительно, также из-за кампаний по манипуляции, поддерживаемых иностранными государствами. Стоит отметить, что по оценкам, в начале 2024 года количество пользователей X составляло 429 миллионов, а ежемесячная аудитория платформы по всему миру достигает примерно 300 миллионов человек.
