Google is testing Search Live in more markets
Google has provided an update regarding the global availability of its "Search Live" feature, clarifying that it has not yet rolled out universally to all users. While the feature continues to be accessible in the United States and India, Google confirms that active testing is underway in additional markets. This suggests that a wider release of the AI-powered tool could be on the horizon.
Search Live, first introduced at I/O 2025 and subsequently launched for all US Google app users last September, empowers users to point their phone's camera at an object or scene and ask questions about what they perceive in front of them.
A notable enhancement to the feature is its integration with Google's Gemini 3.1 Flash model. This upgrade is anticipated to result in more intuitive and natural conversations, alongside a quicker and more reliable user experience. Furthermore, the new model offers native multilingual support, broadening its accessibility and utility across different regions.
Accessing Search Live is straightforward; users can find it within the Google app on both Android and iOS devices by tapping the 'Live' button situated beneath the search bar. Alternatively, the feature can be engaged through Google Lens, where the 'Live' icon is located near the bottom of the screen, allowing users to commence an interactive chat with their surroundings.
