Chrome Brings Desktop-Style Bookmark Bar to Android Tablets and Foldables
A significant enhancement is rolling out to Chrome on Android tablets and foldable devices: a dedicated bookmark bar. This update, while seemingly minor, dramatically improves the browsing experience, making it much akin to desktop use. It's a hugely welcome addition for users who rely on these larger mobile devices for more robust computing tasks.
Available with version 146 of Chrome for Android, which was released recently, the new bookmark bar will be situated directly beneath the Omnibox. It will prominently display favicons and the names of your saved websites. For those with numerous bookmarks, a chevron icon will allow users to scroll through the full list, and a long press on any bookmark will reveal its complete URL.
To activate this convenient new feature, users must enable it manually, as the default setting is 'Hidden on narrow screens.' Simply navigate to Chrome's Settings, then select 'Appearance,' and finally choose 'Show bookmarks bar' to make your favorite websites readily accessible.
