The journey for FBC: Firebreak, Remedy’s online multiplayer game, is reaching a new phase as the studio has announced the release of its final content update today. Titled ‘Open House,’ this update marks the conclusion of new content development for the game. Despite this, Remedy has assured players that FBC: Firebreak will remain fully operational and playable for the foreseeable future, stating their commitment to sustaining the relay servers even with lower player volumes.
Remedy Entertainment is widely recognized for crafting the distinctive and surreal worlds of critically acclaimed titles like Control and Alan Wake. FBC: Firebreak, launched last year, is also set within this beloved universe. However, the multiplayer spin-off faced a challenging reception from critics, primarily due to its initial onboarding experience, which Remedy had previously committed to improving. The studio also underwent a leadership change last year following its CEO’s departure.
The ‘Open House’ update introduces some new in-game additions, but its most significant changes focus on enhancing accessibility and inviting more players. The base price of FBC: Firebreak has been reduced to $20. Furthermore, a new ‘Friend’s Pass’ feature has been implemented, allowing players who own the game to invite friends who do not, granting them access to matches and potentially expanding the player base.
