Preview Milano Art Week 2026: A Guide to Today’s Openings Across Galleries and Institutions

As part of the 2026 edition of Milano Art Week, Untitled Association invites you to discover must-see exhibitions, events, and initiatives. We’ve curated itineraries for industry professionals, art enthusiasts, and curious visitors alike, covering museums, institutional spaces, private galleries, and independent venues. For a full overview of all itineraries, click here. Our new print issue, number 132, which will be presented at miart, features a complete map.

A notable new feature of this tenth edition is Ghost Track, a project born from the collaboration between the Civic Museums of the City of Milan and MAC – Milano Art Community. The project unfolds through a series of interventions by contemporary artists who engage in a dialogue with the Civic Museums’ permanent collections not dedicated to modern and contemporary art. These act as visual counterpoints to the historical heritage, subtly integrated into display cases or exhibition paths without disrupting the usual viewing experience, thereby introducing new layers of interpretation.

On the opening day of Mega Art Fair, the third edition dedicated to contemporary art and cultural experimentation, we present a route packed with inaugurations, starting from the Loreto district and heading towards City Life. We begin with the galleries eastcontemporary and Galleria Raffaella Cortese. We then move between Porta Nuova and Chinatown with Zazà Ramen. Continuing in the vicinity, we visit the galleries Antonia Jannone Disegni di Architettura, Fondazione Officine Saffi, Cadogan Gallery, Kaufmann Repetto, and Montrasio Arte. We conclude beyond Parco Sempione, in the City Life area with the ArtLine Milano – Parco d’Arte Contemporanea park and the Dellupi Arte gallery.

Milano Art Week 2026: Today’s Openings and Appointments

Today marks the inauguration of the third edition of Mega Art Fair at Spazio Profumo fabbrica Esperis, a fair dedicated to contemporary art and cultural experimentation. Within SPAZIO PROFUMO, a former factory built in the 1950s, Mega unfolds across various exhibition rooms and grand halls, complemented by semi-open areas for site-specific projects and dispersed curatorial interventions. The program includes talks, independent publishing, workshops, performances, music, and film, transforming the fair into a dynamic platform for dialogue and discovery.

In the Main Section, exhibitors present works within a collective exhibition curated by Marta Orsola Sironi, or in individual or shared spaces developed in dialogue with the artistic direction. The entire setup is conceived as a unified environment capable of fostering connections between diverse practices. The Video Programme enriches the fair’s schedule with a selection of film and time-based works presented by galleries and institutions in a dedicated space. Among the fair’s central themes is City of Glass, inspired by Paul Auster‘s novel of the same name, which interprets the city as a living organism and a stratified system of relationships, identities, and narratives. An additional section, developed in collaboration with Harlesden High Street, features a selection of international galleries and curatorial projects united by experimental and research-oriented approaches.

We begin our day just a stone’s throw from the Loreto and Lima metro stops with the first two stops, ensuring you don’t miss the inaugurations at eastcontemporary gallery and Galleria Raffaella Cortese.

At eastcontemporary, the second solo exhibition by Czech artist Eliška Konečná opens today. Working primarily with textile bas-reliefs, the artist investigates the body as a site of imprint and exposure: receptive and vulnerable, yet capable of shaping its surroundings. Her latest works feature acts and proximities, tracing moments where tenderness and control become inseparable.

A short distance away, Galleria Raffaella Cortese presents Bearing by Gabrielle Goliath. The exhibition brings together an unprecedented body of works on paper and canvas that explores the multiple meanings of the term “bearing” (to carry, to support), focusing on Black, Brown, femme, and queer bodies.

We continue beyond Porta Nuova, a short walk from Porta Garibaldi, with our next stops: the Zazà Ramen space and the Antonia Jannone Disegni di Architettura gallery.

In the vicinity of Porta Nuova, the sake bar & restaurant Zazà Ramen inaugurates Hues of Delicacy, a site-specific installation by Italian-Albanian artist Anila Rubiku. The project evolves from the series The Inner Door, in which the artist explores the boundary between private and public space, drawing inspiration from the internal doors of Milanese residential buildings. Using glass beads sewn onto canvas for Zazà Ramen, Rubiku expands her research on thresholds and domestic architectures, intertwining it with her connection to Canada, where she lives and works. From her engagement with Canadian indigenous communities, she learned the use of glass beads, a tradition linked to a long history of colonization and trade.

A short distance away, the Antonia Jannone Disegni di Architettura gallery inaugurates the solo exhibition Small Ritual Landscapes by Aldo Cibic today. Featuring eleven ceramic landscapes, akin to fragments of architecture created using the slab technique, the exhibition marks a new chapter for the artist, reflecting on his poetics through the expressive medium of Jingdezhen ceramics. Ten of the eleven works on display will be in a limited edition of 10 pieces, while the eleventh will have an unlimited edition. Additionally, 14 original drawings representing the sculptures on display will be exhibited.

We move to the heart of Milan’s Chinatown to reach the Fondazione Officine Saffi, where, for Milano Art Week 2026, the completion of the permanent site-specific intervention by Francesco Simeti in the foundation’s spaces is presented to the public. Conceived from its early stages as an open and evolving work, Questa stanza non ha più pareti (This Room No Longer Has Walls) stems from the idea of bringing together fragments of ceramic decorations from different eras and cultures within a single surface. The images, transferred onto ceramic tiles using modern technology, create a composition where references distant in time and space enter into relation, generating a layered visual fabric that alters the perception of the environment and symbolically expands its boundaries.

Moving to the parallel Via Bramante, we reach the Milanese headquarters of London’s Cadogan Gallery for the inauguration of Act I: Penombra, Richard Zinon’s fourth solo exhibition at the gallery. Richard’s works on display will stimulate a meditation on potential, on the threshold between emergence and articulation. A space where form is not yet fully defined, where color exists in depth rather than on the surface. Oscillating between containment and release, some paintings retain the tension of a mark before it is fully realized, while others are charged with the mark itself.

A short distance away, don’t miss the inauguration at Kaufmann Repetto gallery of Towards, the first Italian solo exhibition by Kim Bohie. Among the most esteemed Korean landscape painters, her vibrant compositions synthesize diverse influences, blending Eastern and Western traditions. At the heart of Kim’s luminous paintings are the exuberant forms of the natural world, imbued with visual and spiritual qualities. A triple inauguration today at Kaufmann Repetto: Un cuore semplice by Pierpaolo Campanini and The Walker by Simone Fattal.

The title of Campanini’s eighth solo exhibition at the gallery is taken from Gustave Flaubert‘s eponymous 1877 short story, introducing a world where devotion is placed upon modest things, transforming them into images of unexpected intensity through repetition and solitude. Campanini operates within this emotional register, focusing on the moment when affection takes shape, and form begins to detach from reality, acquiring an autonomous presence, almost a sacred residue. Campanini’s works are born from a layered process, oscillating between physical construction and digital elaboration.

The Walker is Simone Fattal’s work installed in the courtyard leading to the space on Via di Porta Tenaglia.

On the same street, just a few meters away, the Milanese branch of Montrasio Arte presents two newly inaugurated exhibitions: Il racconto interrotto (The Interrupted Story), a solo exhibition by Salvatore Fancello, and La forma non contiene (Form Does Not Contain), a solo exhibition by Giacinto Cerrone.

The former, curated by Alberto Salvadori, displays a group of terracottas and polychrome ceramics in Fancello’s signature bestiary. La forma non contiene features a selection of red, white, and black sculptures created from the 1990s onwards. The apt title, chosen by curator Lorenzo Madaro, is an expression used by the artist himself.

Beyond Parco Sempione and the Arco della Pace, we arrive in the City Life area for our final two stops: the ArtLine Milano – Parco d’Arte Contemporanea space and the Dellupi Arte gallery.

Today marks the inauguration of the completed ArtLine Milano – Parco d’Arte Contemporanea, a public art project promoted by the City of Milan. This contemporary art park, an open-air museum, features 20 site-specific works by international artists and artists under 40. For this occasion, Jeremy Deller‘s latest installation, Octospider, will be presented.

We conclude, a short distance from the Fontana delle Quattro Stagioni, at Dellupi Arte gallery with the group exhibition Informale 360, an exploration of informal art characterized by abstract and spontaneous painting, far from predetermined schemes. The artists on display, each with their own creative path, share a experimentation with color and form as a personal expression of human psychological and emotional tensions. The project revolves around historical works by Hans Hartung and Georges Mathieu, pioneers of abstraction and experimenters with innovative, gestural techniques. The exhibition is complemented by works from other key figures of post-war informal art, such as Italians Carla Accardi and Emilio Vedova, and international artists including Hisao Domoto, Toshimitsu Imai, Paul Jenkins, Maurice Wyckaert, Katrin Fridriks, Yanyan Huang, and Shozo Shimamoto.
