Gonets has announced the launch of a new satellite project set to reshape the priorities of Russian space communications. Instead of ambitious internet systems, the focus will now be on niche data transmission services and the Internet of Things (IoT). This orbital constellation of 180 satellites aims to supersede previously scaled-back projects and concentrate on practical applications, ranging from monitoring to providing connectivity in remote regions.
