The Ministry of Digital Development (Mincifry) has proposed exempting data centers crucial for critical IT infrastructure and artificial intelligence systems from the upcoming ‘take-or-pay’ electricity payment mechanism currently being developed by the Ministry of Energy (Minenergo).
Mincifry warns that treating these vital data centers identically to cryptocurrency mining operations could significantly increase the tariff burden on the industry and drive up service costs.
