Aqara has introduced a new indoor security camera, the G350, which it claims is the first camera to receive Matter certification. Matter is an open-source standard designed to enhance interoperability among various smart home brands, including major players like Google and Amazon. The G350 not only functions as a security camera but also serves as a Zigbee and Matter hub within the Aqara Home app, allowing users to control a wide array of smart devices from different brands and protocols through a single interface.

This camera features a dual-lens system, incorporating a 4K wide-angle lens for expansive views and a 2.5K telephoto lens for detailed close-ups. It boasts a 9x hybrid zoom and a pan-tilt mechanism, providing full 360-degree room coverage. Advanced AI powers its tracking capabilities for people and pets, and it intelligently filters events and sounds to send only relevant alerts. The Camera Hub G350 is now available for purchase for approximately $140.

In addition to the G350, Aqara has also launched the G400, a wired doorbell camera. This doorbell offers flexible internet connectivity via either Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi 6. It features a 2K resolution lens with an ultra-wide 165-degree field of view, ensuring visitors are captured even when standing close to the door. The G400 includes on-device detection for recognizing people and motion without an internet connection. When connected, its cloud-based AI features expand to identify faces, packages, vehicles, and animals. The Aqara G400 doorbell camera seamlessly integrates with popular smart home platforms such as Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings. It is currently available for around $100.
