Does art still amaze? Yes, art continues to amaze because it has no end. It regenerates along with the human being who shapes and guides it, like a conductor with music. The world changes, and with it, we change too. Among the elements that define us today is artificial intelligence, now part of our evolutionary journey, a tool that we shape and that, in turn, contributes to generating new forms of imagination. This premise introduces what happens during Milan Design Week 2026, from April 20th to 26th, in the cloister of Palazzo Moscova, where Y.O.U. Your Own Universe, an installation by the collective Numero Cromatico for the glo for art project, is presented. The work, in the Brera Design District and as part of the Fuorisalone program, fits into this year’s theme: Essere Progetto (Being Project).
Upon entering the courtyard, the perception is that of finding oneself in another dimension. In the center, a large luminous circle. All around, projections on semi-transparent screens amplify the perception of space and multiply light and colors. The first reaction is amazement, then comes orientation, and finally immersion. The visitor becomes part of the artwork. In front of the circle, a sort of algorithmic oracle, one stops and chooses words that are processed by artificial intelligence and returned into space in the form of projected texts. Open-ended phrases that change according to the choices of those participating. The work is activated through relationships, and each presence leaves a mark.
Technology is therefore an integral part of the creative process; the space activates with those who pass through it and takes shape through relationships. The experience ends when one leaves but continues to exist in the transformations it has generated. The glo Hilo and glo Hilo Plus devices are also integrated among the luminous surfaces. Their customization component aligns with the installation’s functioning.
As explained by Simone Masè, President and CEO of BAT Italia, the project unites art, design, and technology to create a unique experience. The circle, also a symbol of the brand, becomes a physical space, a central point that holds everything together.
For the Numero Cromatico collective, working today means including other forms of intelligence. Not just human intelligence, but also systems that learn and produce content. Artificial intelligence enters as a presence that modifies the way of thinking and opens up new possibilities, connecting to the Fuorisalone theme, Essere Progetto. The work takes shape over time, through relationships between people, space, and technology.
During Milan Design Week 2026, a new version of glo Hilo Plus inspired by McLaren Racing is also presented. It’s a limited edition that draws elements from the racing world, blending design and technical research. The product enters the same context as the installation. Technology, aesthetics, and direct use meet in the same space. The exhibition will remain open for the entire duration of Milan Design Week.
