NOTE! THIS MOD IS NOT REALISED YET
Hey, Witcher Mod is my long-term project that, unfortunately, I still haven't completed. For now, I just want to show you an outline of it. This mod will be unique not only in terms of its atmosphere but also the effort I've put into the scenes, characters, and items. It has been created based on the Viking Conquest Module System, so you'll find all the features from that DLC.
The mod will include:
NOTE! THIS MOD MAY NOT BE 100% LORE-FRIENDLY!!! - It is challenging to reflect the time/place/actions 1 to 1 without excluding interesting elements so you knoww :)
Please keep in mind that I am an amateur in both graphics and programming. I am still learning and doing this for fun, I hope it is good anyway
I will expand the description to include what you can expect, but for now, I'm waiting for your feedback. I hope you will like the screenshots
Please note that the list of FAQs is not arranged in order from the most frequently asked to the less asked!
1. What engine/module system is The Witcher Mod based on?
- The Witcher Mod is based on Viking Conquest engine/module system, so you will find most of its features in it.
2.1. Will other races be added (e.g. elves, dwarves)?
- Other races will appear in the The Witcher Mod but not in the first release.
2.2. What about their factions?
- Other races will appear with their own factions (e. g. Dol Blatana, Mahakam)
3. Will there be side factions (e.g. Order of Flaming Rose, Svalblod cult, mercenary groups, Lodge of Sorcerers, Salamandra, Strays of Spalla)?
- Yes, they will appear, but not in the first release
4. Will there be sorcerers/magic?
- Yes, but in a later release of the game
5. Will some Faction be locked in diplomacy for respecting the lore?
- Yes, factions bordering Nilfgaard (Temeria from Sodden, Lyria & Rivia, Cintra) and Skellige will always be at war with each other. More distant factions (Redania, Aedirn, Kaedwen) will have a higher probability of going to war against Nilfgaardians. All northern kingdoms will always be at peace (except Kaedwen and Aedirn, which would have a probability of war against each other). Ofir would have a low probability of war with Nilfgaardians but would mostly be neutral, and Toussaint will always be neutral.
6. Do you intend to add freelancer?
- Yes, but propably in one of the sub-versions of 1.0 ver.
7. Will you able to start as a Monarch/Lord like in VC?
- Yes I leave this function in. In the next update, if you select the "Start as Monarch" option, you will be able to play as one of the current rulers (e.g. Foltest, Emhyr, Anna Henrietta) or create your own.
8. Will a Witcher race be playable?
- Yes, but they will be introduced along with sorcerers in a later version of mod.
9. Which time-period will the mod be set in?
- The mod will be set around 1239, at the start of the Northern Wars
10. Will it be more inspired by the books, videogames or Netflix TV series?
- All the characters, locations, items, etc. will be inspired mostly by CD Projekt Red's Witcher series videogames (including: Gwent, Thronebreaker, Rogue Mage), Sapkowski books, comics and 0% by Netflix TV series
11. Will storytelling be added to the mod?
- No, propably not
12. Will there be any random encounters (like in VC)?
- Yes, there will be random encounters.
13. Will the Wild Hunt take place?
- More likely yes, but in the late version of the game, it will be something like an invasion
14. Are there going to be special/heritage troops?
- Yes, but in one of the upcoming update.
15.1 Will there be a stamina system?
- Yes, as in the VC
15.2. Will there be a armor penalty system
- Yes, slightly different from the VC
Thanks for attention!!!

Hi. I was a big fan of the Witcher when I was pretty young so I have all of this useless knowledge about the lore and world, which brings up my question. Will the smaller and more obscure realms, like Verden, Caingorn, Kerack, Cidaris, Brugge, Angren, etc be included? I totally understand if you donβt include them, however I think they add a lot diplomacy-wise. The western smaller kingdoms were somewhat of a weak link considering the northern alliance, and the alliance en-masse sorta teetered when it came to Nilfgaardβs incursions into them. Even if you were to only have like, four-five nobles running around for each nation, I think it would add a lot.
Hey ripleyland!
Kerack and Cidaris will surely be added as "autonomic factions." In terms of Caingorn, Henfors, etc., it would be very hard to make their lords and troops (eventually inspired by the Polish Witcher TV series), so I will probably abolish them. Also, some factions like Angren, Verden, Brugge, and Sodden will be part of some kingdoms like Nilfgaardian Provinces. I was thinking of introducing all these smaller states, which would be doable but quite difficult for technical reasons, but if you have more suggestions about lore or other aspects of the mod, go ahead and ask! π
You could also have some of those factions be vassal states of either Temeria or Nilfgaard, which was a feature that was in 457AD and Aut Ceaser Aut Nihil. Again, when it comes to planning these factions Iβd be happy to help.
Hey, you know what maybe someday , for now Sodden, Brugge, Angren will be part of Temeria, Verden and Attre Cintra, and the Nilfgaard provinces will just be one big faction, the Nilfgaardian Empire. If you would like to elaborate on any of the provinces or minor factions of the north (including ruler, lords, locations, items, troops etc.) describe them in a private message to me. Please note that before I decide to add a faction, certain requirements must be met, which I will describe to you when you decide to write me a message.
I personally think it would be neat to add Hengfors, as from his limited appearance King Niedimar or whatever his name was left an impression on me as a pretty interesting character. Also Iβm pretty sure there was some concerns, during the one yap fest in between the monarchs in Blood of Elves, that Hengfors was an uneasy ally with the northern realms. Also, in regards to the smaller realms, Verdun and company, as FatRambo said theyβd immediately get steamrolled. If you were to put in the newer version of diplomacy, this could trigger the Second and Third Northern Wars. If you do consider creating those factions, or just need any logistic help in anyway that isnβt related to game design Iβd be happy to help.
If Hengfors etc. were to be added then updates together with Kovir and Poviss, in the form of the Hengfors League faction (consisting of: Caingorn, Hengfors, Crinfrid, etc.). If you want you can also describe it and give some arguments (see the reply to your above comment) maybe I'll be tempted to add it. As for the moment it is the most convincing to me to fill the voids on the map.
it seems like much of unecessary job- imo the factions would be stomped in first days of war as they would have like 2 castles and 1 city each
