Hello again, it's time for a Dev Diary about the Rustforge game project! This time we have some new screenshots to share, and along with that some cool background story about the game's name and slogan. As you might have noticed the latest cover image of the game contains the slogan "Explore > Grow > Protect" below the game's title. In this blog post we're going to explore the mystery behind these words. Keep reading!
Okay, let's start with the game's name. What was it again? Rusty Fork? I mean Rust Forge. No, bare with me: Rustforge. Now we got it! It really isn't that complex. The game name combines two central themes of the game. The first part of the name, rust, is a direct reference to iron, which is a central resource in the game. Rust is in fact the oxidation of iron. With growth comes a downside, however. A large factory setup requires a lot of protection. And since you're on an uncharted planet you never know what you're going to face! That's right: there will be enemies in the game and there's bound to be some sort of tower defense gameplay involved in protecting your precious realm of rust...
