Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

After a long wait of almost two years, we are proud to present you the release of Rise of the Reds Version 1.85. In the name of the SWR team, I want to express my gratitude to all of you who stuck with us for all this time. Now, the grand moment has arrived as we lift the curtain on our new release.

The Graphics, animations look amazing. One thing i noticed is that the brutal AI isnt brutal, In 1.802 it was quite a challenge challenge. No its unfortunatly very easy.

First of all i don't have RoTR mod.
I have this problem ONLY when the "save" file is corrupted, i start a skrimish battle normally but not that particulr saved game.
maybe you played it on another game mod, like playing the save of "an act of war" (mod) on the original zh mod that will make the game close or missing something in it "original zh game"

see here's the thing ... once you've completed the installation of the ROTR v1.85, copy the cracked file for Zero Hour and paste it on the 'Command and Conquer: Generals ZH' (location: C/Program Files (x86)/EA Games/ Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour) folder where your ROTR V1.85 is installed, alongside with the Zero Hour game. It should start the game. It works with me..just try to take my advice. :)
That usually happens when some files are missing. That's from my own experience so it might not be the case for you, but do make sure you have all the required files (ROTR files, ZH files and default generals files.)

do I need to have version 1.82 already installed , beacause for me it's not working , it starts a zero hour process
You must uninstall all previous versions of Rotr, including map pack in documents folder before installing 1.85... If it doesn't work, try uninstalling also Zero Hour and reinstalling it. And, many other people had same kind of issues, and they were responded how to proceed...
how to install it ...it says error.
if you click on the main generals zero hour file it will start the main game.but when you install rotr,it creates a shortcut on your desktop.click on that and enjoy.if there is no shortcut on desktop,go to the main generals zero hour folder and find this file:"ROTR185_Lnchr" and click on it and enjoy.(assuming you have already installed rotr in generals zero hour folder)

I've downloaded but is say error ***** denied and it play the old mods. Do i need to uninstall the 1.8 with the 1.801 and 1.802 patch then install the 1.85. Please help me. PS is it work with SWR game like SHOCKWAVE. Thank you love this game
