The release of the "Poke646: Anniversary Edition" on Dec 21st 2016 marks the 15th anniversary of the original "Poke646" release and the 10th anniversary of the "Poke646: Vendetta" sequel release, both some of the most critically acclaimed singleplayer mods for Half-Life. Both games form a coherent storyline and span over a total of 42 maps and approximately 4-6 hours of playtime. The "Poke646: Annniversary Edition" is basically a bundle of both mods, patched to run under the current Steam and Half-Life versions. This edition is designed to replace all other installations and/or patches of the mods, ideally becoming the only downloadable edition of the mods over the coming years.

The Poke646/Poke646: Vendetta duology is rightfully the top Half-Life modification project with careful approach and dedication visible in every tiny aspect. Fantastic gameplay and lots of aesthetic pleasure are guaranteed.

This release is certainly the best way to play it on Steam these days. The mod is excellent urban adventure as a total conversion. It's got the best looking large maps and interior levels for it's time.

An absolutely fantastic experience. I've played my fair share of mods (specially single player ones) and for some reason, Poke646 was one of the very few that i just didn't play for whatever reason. What a terrible mistake.

Simply put, the best single player mod i've ever played, elevating both the Half-Life spirit (immersion, pacing, level design), and the best that the SP mod school has to offer.

I find incredible that after all these years, and incredibly awesome mods like Half-Life: Echoes, Poke646 remains unsurpassed in terms of single player mod design.

Top tier atmosphere, level design, encounter design and just plain good taste in changing the core mechanics a notch to remain both fresh and familiar.

I had tried playing through this ages ago back when it was originally released and never got around to finishing, until one day I decided to look for a good mod to play, luckily I found this mod again, incredibly high quality for a mod with a really solid single player campaign. Personally, I found Vendetta to be a bit better than the first one, huge fan of the new machine gun added and the texture work.

Definitely one of those mods that could have been sold at retail.

Overall.

great classic remastered

Poke646 and its Sequel Vendetta are in my opinion the most well made and one of the best (if not THE best) Half-Life Mods I've ever had the pleasure of playing.

Pros+
The Level Design is the most amazing I've ever seen for any GoldSrc Engine Game or Mod, hell I'd go far to say that its Level Design is better than anything made for Source Engine.

The Mod adds some New Weapons that aren't just Reskins of Half-Life's Weapons (Well Mostly), one of the coolest is this Alien Slug called a Squasher which Spits out green stuff that gibs Enemies.

The Enemies are the same ones from Half-Life (though the HECU Marines have a new Model), but there are 2 New Enemies, the Explotoad aka Chumtoad, and this Killer Robot which is a Boss you fight at the end of both Mods.

Cons-
Honestly I don't have anything negative to say about Poke646 and Vendetta, they are pretty much the most perfect Half-Life Mods I've ever played.

Final Score 10/10
