Hello everyone! Here is an update on the mod’s progress and future development paths.
Unfortunately some real-life related stuff came up that will require me to divert attention from the mod. With the mod aproaching the 3rd year of development, I’m affraid it might enter development hell and I’ve said before that I would rather release it unfinished instead of letting it become another dead mod.
However at this stage the mod is too unfinished so in order to release it I have decided to make the following cuts:
I understand that I previously said that the mod would have a multiplayer part where it could give the custom weapons to players. Unfortunately I’m still learning how to mod this game as I go and it would eat too much of my time.
It would have required to figure a way for the scripts that I have to work properly with the mod, create new player classes and 3d models in order for the players to get the custom weapons and their respective upgrades.
If I manage to make the multiplayer part it will be released seperatedly some time later.
I also intended for this mod to be played in servers that did not run it. Unfortunately many people complained that in the pervious version of the mod the surfaces of the weapons became invisible or their animations did not play properly.
I finaly gave up on compatibility with other servers when I started experiencing crashes during testing.
I’m aware that many of you intend to play my weapons mod with other mods. The mod currently has files that allow compatibility with custom campaigns where you are given the custom guns and attachments that do not appear in the main campaign. But that’s where it ends.
I was creating compatibility files within the mod but when I found myself having to make seperate ‘merge’ files to work with other mods I decided that it was best if I simply edited the strictly necessary files for the mod to work properly. I was pretty much working on my mod and other people’s mods at the same time and that was eating too much development time.
Optimaly if you run my weapons mod with other mods, it should be with mods that do not also mess with the weapons aspect.
The 3D development part is nearly ending. Almost all of the weapon models are done. The only weapon models left to make are the Webley-Scott 1910 pistol, Beretta 1934 pistol, reintroducing the High-Standard Silenced, applying attachments to weapons that still don’t have them (Silencers, scopes, extended magazines, etc…), properly code in the Panzerfaust into the heavy weapons slot and correcting some editing errors on the 3D models.
The only fases left to develop will be the textures and sounds.
Converting sounds will be very easy and hopefully will be done quickly.
Textures might be harder since I’ve found and have been testing some neat shader combinations that will make the weapons overall look awesome.

With these changes hopefully the mod might be released by the end of 2024 or 2025 without sacrificing too much of the quality.

Hey does anyone here have GOG version and noticed some changes in it? I would swear that years ago when I played retail CD version the radios in game played music ("Road to Berlin" from MoH soundtrack), but now they don't. I can't compare it side by side right now since I only have laptop with no cd-station in it, but maybe someone could check it? I wonder what else they changed.
Do you have an example map where you think Road to Berlin was played?
I'm almost sure it was playing on M2L1, the radio was in the section of building where Kriegsmarine documents are. After taking documents that section opens, and there is one or two radios there in rooms. Some people also said it was supposed to play on Algiers map but I can't remember that now
Also I checked ubersound.scr and scripts for maps and there are script lines for radio music, but they're not assigned proper numbers so it's as if game doesn't recognize them. Although I don't have original .scr's to compare. I'll try to make fix for that if it gets confirmed
