This Remod is literally a downgrade of two good mods. Softlocking bugs, wacky and non-consistent visuals (some textures are upscaled, others are blurred), sometimes terrible sounds in ETC 1 Remod and missing enemies in ETC 2 Remod.
Play it only if you like HD-fied everything and custom weapon models. If not, try originals mods instead.
its good. i honestly dont know what to say. demo was short as hell.
Well... I really liked the idea, but the implementation is terrible, enemies spawns each save/load, which leads to map, overhelmed with enemies, making walkthrough impossibly hard. Also no binds for the seventh slot, where the weapon from hl:s.
So I added all files into DAC & Started the Game, it loads for few Seconds & then CTD..done most of the know "fixes" but Still Same MMO "Loads & CTD within Mins" Worked Semi-fine without this Sub Mod + that fixes but Broke the Mod overall. :(
needs a option to sign up for service
An alright mod that is plagued by awful balancing and some bugs due to the SteamPipe update.
The mod starts off relatively okay but you will be lost for the first 5 minutes or so but afterwards it becomes pretty linear and understandable, atleast it did for me.
Unfortunately the closer you get to the ending, the worse it gets, to the point where you must use cheats as there are just waves after waves of enemies with barely any supplies to counter-balance them.
Voiceacting is whatever, does the job and sometimes a bit funny due to the delivery.
If you got time to waste and have nothing to do otherwise, it's worth atleast a singular playthrough but you probably won't have that much fun with it.
It's a interesting mod, but the civilian units just doesn't feel like it fits in this sort of setting. But it's interesting if you can get past that at least.
A collection of very mediocre, bland and confusing maps. Play this only if you are VERY bored.
Part 3 however, while suffering from same issues, at least has interesting story.
I seriously thought this was going to be longer, this custom story is awfully short!
It has to be said, that so far, this mod features some very poor level design. The number of times the controls are wrenched away from the player, or a text prompt appears on screen to guide you, is really quite telling.
I appreciate that every level designer has their own way of doing things, but there are still golden rules that everyone should follow. A major rule that Leon appears to struggle with is "show, don't tell." If pressing a button in a room then requires a cutscene to show me what it did, then the layout is poor. If entering an area without a key item requires a "Go back!" message, the guidance is poor. Source has the tools to guide the player without ripping control away from the player every time they press a button. Need to open a distant door? Use a monitor to show the door, or have the door in sight. Want to tell the player that they'll need a keycard? Show them the locked door first!
If the player enters your level and you have to immediately tell them, "There is a keycard in one of the buildings outside," then I'm afraid you've done a poor job.
I've heard Leon's releases compared to the boomer shooters of the late 90s, but even they had level design principles. They NEEDED to follow them, because NPC dialogue and cutscenes weren't a thing. You were always in control. You were expected to find your way and levels were designed with this in mind (most of the time anyway).
Its certainly a good mod, I certainly enjoyed playing as Scotland until it was *** to manage everything. One of the things I downloaded this mod for was to experince the good stuff this mod had to offer, such as unique events and such, that never appeared for me for whatever reason. The AI is still as the same as before, tho atleast it tries to flank me but still meh.
I would say just try it out, its not great nor bad, just mildy annoying to deal with some of the tedious stuff.
At least the execution animations are fun to look at, dialogue makes the 2-3ish hour long generic cover shooter compaign somewhat bearable if you can overlook things like getting shot even from behind cover or literally every brain dead NPC in the area knowing where you are as soon as a single one of them detects you.
Fantastic mod for Dawn of war!
The units move much slower. I was hoping for a 1812 mod to be in this. I wasalsohoping to play Bavaria in the mod but its not available for some reason.
after sinking the carrier in the first USN mission, the mod gets stuck on a cutscene after enterprise's deck is repaired and you are stuck there
I say "no" to this mod. Because phrase "old-school mod" is absolutely correct. The map geometry literally from 90s - cube is ideal figure of author. In 2000 it's maybe good mod, but we live in 2024 year, where we have HL: echoes with perfect locations. I feel (myself, lol) more doom one experience, than HL. Look at this corridor: I.imgur.com
And yep, some mistakes how hev-station size, the map change load in ventilation (yep, you are stuck), door textures mistake.
Sadly this release writes cheques the engine can't cash. When a large number of enemy converge (the whole point of the game) the system chokes hideously, down to a frame every 2-3 seconds and then complete collapse with a CTD. The game also cheats - it teleports waves into place right where you're standing. It's a shame because the maps were genuinely different and interesting, if they'd just done the faction war element more in line with what the engine can deliver (given its single threaded nature) this may have worked.
FWIW I'm on a Ryzen 5-5600x and GTX1080, 32gb DDR4 and NVME drive. I'd dare say quite average but the NPC handling is where this title collapses.
10 years ago this was ok but now its outdated.
I know, the mod is bad, but i enjoyed it.
lovely! unlike the main EZ games, this one actually has great industrial complexes, like Half-Life tends to have, and is not an eye sore because of all the boring metal textures and blue filters.
However, there is WAY, WAY too much talking in this, and the character who talks the most, another metrocop, is not only entirely unintelligeble, which would be almost forgivable (although not for someone like me who is not a native english speaker), but the worst offender is that noone, ABSOLTUELY NOONE in this goddamn mod has ANY SUBTITLES
