EXFIL - Reviving Tarkov
What is EXFIL?
EXFIL is a Tarkov archival mod that uses old versions to remake Tarkov with BSG's old goals in mind.
This means we are going in the original direction Tarkov was planned to go and we're polishing up the old versions of the game by adding new features and bringing back cut content from former games like Russia 2028 using left behind code and assets.
Maximum Realism
We prefer logic and realism over gameplay, even when it comes to the food and drink system.
Things like recoil, movement, weight, item prices, ammo and armor stats, grenade stats, etc. are all meant to be ARAP (as realistic as possible), just like BSG intended. You can even ESCAPE from Tarkov!*
This mod is NOT meant to be easy in any way. It's difficult and very challenging.

(*due to engine limitations, we can't add cutscenes or custom maps just yet. escaping is a questline with a large reward)

So, what's the deal with 0.1?
Currently (like we said in our last post), we are pausing the development of 0.1 to work on 11.7
Why?
Simple, it's buggy and outdated. It's so hard and unenjoyable to play and work on 0.1 that we just decided to pause it and work on our experience with 11.7
What bugs?
Well, for one, the server constantly crashes due to it being so outdated. You can't even drink food and water without the server crashing.
What have you been able to get done?
Whatever was shown on our Discord. That means;
- Weapon decompilation (for people who don't understand, every weapon asset was encrypted and couldn't be modified)
- Better ragdoll physics
That's it?
Yes, it is. The process of actually modifying the alpha is torturous at times, and causes so many issues that it's almost impossible to make any huge changes without issues arising.

What about 12.11?
We've thought of some ways to fix 12.11, and make it playable. Stay tuned for more news!
