Additional installation instructions:

Install Call of Duty 2 through Steam
Launch the game at least once to ensure it’s working
Set up a player profile
Navigate to your user config settings (<path-to-game>\main\players\<user-id>\)
Open the .cfg file and change r_mode to your monitor resolution
Change "renderer preference" to DX7
Download the RTX Remix Runtime using this
Copy the downloaded Remix files to your game directory
Download rtx.conf and place it in your game directory
Download this file and place it in the "main" folder in your game directory. This enables the console to enter commands. You cannot use this online

Fixing Potential Issues:

The game won't start with the error “failed to find steam”
- To fix this copy “steam.dll” from “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam” and paste it into your Call of Duty 2 install folder
The game will close after a black pops up if you don't have a recording device plugged in. to fix this plug in a pair of headphones and set them as a recording device in windows.right click on speaker in your taskbar and open sound, in the sounds window click on “recording” tab. If it’s not green, plug your headphones into another audio jack until Windows finds it.
A black screen which can persist while loading the multiplayer game.

The game wont launch.

Check that you dont have it already running in your task manager. To open task manager press “ctrl key” + “shift key” + ESC key” together and look for “Cod2MP_s.exe (32 bit)” and close it. It might be in “background processes”
