Borderlands is an original First Person Role Playing Shooter that combines the intuitive reward systems of action role playing games and the frantic-paced shooting combat of first person shooters. The game features a groundbreaking content generation system allowing for near-endless variety in weapons and item drops. Borderlands allows for four players to share the same game experience simultaneously online in co-op gameplay. Players can freely join or leave each other's games at anytime, or choose to play in the full single-player mode. I have played BL2 to DEATH..I would have moved on the BL1 but the menus & GUI/fonts/HUD seem soo ugly. shame as the rest seems like something I could have gotten into. even the tooltips for the loot look ugly compared to the lovely BL2 ones.
Of course, this game made for cooperative. Play with your friends, 3 or 4some and that's the fun :)

One of the worst games I've ever played. Boring, linear, repetitive and easy and killing alien dogs gets old fast, but I don't think the developers realized that. I also hate that there is pre-made classes for you to choose from.
the "content generation system" maybe broke ground in the 80s with Rogue. Don't pretend it's a new idea and wonderful for that. The real new idea here is rpgfps gameplay that's truly fps instead of overrelying on character statistics. Game is far too simple though.

I'll have to disagree, I've never had so much fun with a FPS game before, SERIOUSLY.
Playing it in Coop is 10x better than playing alone.

Even though that's a quite aggressive opinion, I have to agree.
The game itself is very repetitive and requires almost no strategy whatsoever.
Which makes things really boring overall.

may i ask one question?
what difficulty do you play on.
if you play on easy then yes it can be a little bit boring after the first playthrough
but if you have it on hard then it becomes much to strategy craving and requires you to actually use your mind a little bit.. that way the first playthrough is fun and the second playthrough is just insanely fun
the second playthrough is the hard dificulty. What are you talking about? There is no dificulty selection in any of the borderlands games.
Though it might be Linear and repetitive,its great.i know its your opinion that it sucks,im just sharing mine.
