meeh its ok
This is one amazing mod for UT2004. It adds boatloads of new weapons, comes with a new gore system, and has enough features and options to last a lifetime. :) The amount of detail put into every gun is extraordinary. For those of you still playing this classic game, download this mod!
Very good mod.
Game play: 8/10
fun all kinds of new characters, light sabers, and maps made for a very fun game play experiences. I love to play as Jabba run around fat a bulky(though takes forever to get through a lvl with jabba...anyways reason for not perfect ten is still pretty much same gameplay as JKA stock.... the movies lvls are very fun to play though all the good ones are out yet so its hard to know what to expect....
Creativity: 8/10
yeah, added a lot of new characters, character BIOs....kind of pointless to have all those bios but still creative touch...liked all the maps and ever character had its weapon at the start of the game so that was cool!!...the menus are great you can go to any lvl any map, and change characters at any time!! The angle system is awesome and the gamespeed option and dead bodies stay option adds realism. the npcs system could be better but works pretty good... overall lots of creative things came into this mod.
Quality: 7/10
liked menus... a few of the models are very outdated, and look really bad...over most of them are sweet. For some reason the sounds for the characters in the character selection menu only work when you go into the game through picking a difficulty: Jedi, Jedi Master etc...but when i selected KOTF add load system and then go to the characters it the sounds wouldn't work...and in game when you want to change characters the sound don't work either. I was also annoying that the movie cut scene would sometimes have sound but other times not...
Overall: 7.666/10
Overall despite the sound and bad models KOTF adds some cool features to JKA. Its a shame that people kept bashing Tim for no good reason and even push moddbase so far as to ban the mod... In my opinion I see no reason why this mod violates the law more than any other mod out there....
Command and conquer Shockwave was the first mod I played and downloaded, the reason that I'm giving this mod a 10 is because of the difference between most generals now instead of vanilla zero hour where some units got a reskin and more damage, also the reason that you have to try this mod out is because of the gameplay got a total overhaul with all new units and buildings and generals power. You won't even think about Zero Hour anymore if you play Shockwave.
First of all, this mod is a classic, there's no arguing that. It's not perfect, but it deserves to be remembered as one of the best HL1 mods just as much as They Hunger or Heart of Evil or any of the other greats.
First, let's talk about what really is fantastic: the scares! Holy **** man! Judged purely as an exercise in grueling terror, AoM DC is unmatched. Though they may occasionally sink to cheap "GOTCHA!" moments, for the most part the scares are absolutely brilliant, and the atmosphere is so thick throughout you could cut it with a knife. The moment in the beginning where you have to turn off all of the lights in the hospital in order to proceed is still the most emotionally draining moment I've ever experienced in a horror game. What a way to pit the average person's natural fear of the dark and the unknown against the gamer's single minded need to see the end of the level. ******* AWESOME!
The visuals are also pretty excellent, the apartments and hospital come immediately to mind as visual standouts, and the forest area is one of the best ever simulated on an aging game engine. Clear inspiration is drawn from Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and even some movies such as "The Ring" and "The Blair Witch Project". I only have two complaints here: the level that's just a series of repeating brick hallways and another that's clearly a homage to the first Resident Evil game; frankly, it looks unfinished compared to the solid visuals in the rest of the mission pack.
My main complaint though is with those repeating "press the button, find the door it opened" puzzles. How dark the game is combined with the intentionally grimey visual design leads to a lot of "Am I running in circles?" moments, and makes finding where to go next more of a pain in the *** than it should be. Feeling lost might be scary, but it's also annoying.
I could go on more, but I'm reaching my word limit. The truth is, you can't go wrong downloading this. GET IT!
It's Best of Half-Life mod i ever seen!
好遊戲!給你讚!
This is the best thing to have happened to EoC.
An Epic ;) amount of additional content and quite some new features.
From the design (you can still get the old documents) to seeing it through and finally having it all put together by Cambragol.
The creators/team/contributers did an awesome job here.
Like doctorfrog has put it:
"Unstable Space is an attempt at an open-world RPG in a varied and interesting universe".
@machida1000 and likely others:
You should use one of the ts_* key configs. Then 'o' or ESC should work and to dock to a station, first hail it by targetting it and pressing 'v' to request a docking port.
I can remember the first time I played this, it scared the **** out of me! I loved the quality of the story, mapping and textures! This mod should ALWAYS be the first mod that ANY Half-life player downloads and plays!
Gundams, nuff said.
ROTR v1.0 was one of the first mods I've ever played, it was one of the few "serious" total conversion mod for ZH. The mod has come a long way since then and is looking better than ever.
The game didn't fit with the story of theme of the prequel Tiberian Sun that much. I'm not too happy about the "modernizations" they added to the gameplay and the lack of walls, but all in all it is a pretty fun game.
Best realistic and tactical shooter 'nuff said.
